Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

The Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a call-to-action for people worldwide to address five critical areas of importance by 2030: PEOPLE, PLANET, PROSPERITY, PEACE, and PARTNERSHIP.

What are the 17 SDGs ?

In 2015, the 193 countries that make up the United Nations (UN) agreed to adopt the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The historic agenda lays out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets for dignity, peace, and prosperity for the planet and humankind, to be completed by the year 2030. The agenda targets multiple areas for action, such as poverty and sanitation, and plans to build up local economies while addressing people's social needs.

GOAL 17

17 SDG GOALS

Set forward by the United Nations (UN) in 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are a collection of 17 global goals aimed at improving the planet and the quality of human life around the world by the year 2030.

OUR SDGs COMMITMENT

Our commitment are to develop programs and raise awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals. Few local and global programs will be designed for volunteers with an opportunity to take their passion for a particular Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and leverage it to develop related programming and communications at the national and country level to raise awareness and work with leaders to advance the SDGs. During this period, volunteers will work alongside with other volunteer leaders to promote the SDGs through blog, forum articles and social medias.

17 Goals to Transform Our World

The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. More important than ever, the goals provide a critical framework for COVID-19 recovery.

Harder but not impossible

Now it is 2021. Neither nature nor global politics has been especially kind to the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, also known as the Global Goals, over the past few years.

COVID-19 and the SDGs

The COVID-19 global health pandemic is rapidly changing the ways we live and at a time when the world is working towards achieving the SDGs. We must promote health equity and reduce inequality, and look at how return to normal.

The world needs better climate pledges

As a cornerstone of climate leadership, the weakness of today´s pledges is particularly troubling.
